Troy Leyenaar

CREATIVE | FOUNDER

Troy began his advertising career in Cape Town, South Africa, before heading to London where he helped TBWA\London Group win its first Cannes Lion in eight years for The British Army, as well as creating award winning work for Pedigree & British Airways, and helping to launch Skittles on social with “Like the Rainbow”. He also wrote the number one viral in the world “Huge Bear Surprises Crew” at The Viral Factory, amassing over 100M Views.

From there, Troy moved to the U.S., playing a pivotal role in transforming JWT Atlanta into the most awarded network office in North America for two consecutive years and securing its first-ever Cannes recognition for the Pennzoil Film Series, including awards at the One Show, Clios and the Grand Prix at the London Motor Film Festival. He also created the global brand platform for Shell, ‘Drive On’, which brought the creative account from JWT London to Atlanta.

That momentum took him to the epicenter of social at R/GA New York during its Cannes Agency of the Year run as creative director on the McCormick account. There he also worked on AMG Mercedes, Samsung and PWCH.

He then took the creative helm at VML Atlanta, working alongside the ECD & CCO (out of Kansas) where he helped build the then P&E agency into a creative and campaign led agency, growing the creative department from 3 to 14 and winning three major accounts back-to-back, all the while winning Cannes Lions and D&AD honors for Amblyopia World. He also played a pivotal role in helping the network win a slice of the gigantic Ford account.

Troy then brought his creative firepower to the LVCVA, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority running the world-famous tourist destination as Creative Director—rebranding the destination with two TV spots that ran during the Grammys and the SuperBowl, as well as helping successfully guide Sin City through the challenges of COVID-19.

Since then, Troy has run the creative department for Walmart Digital, spearheaded a special project for Ed Bastian and Delta Airlines at CES 2020, helped Kennedy Space Center become the number one tourist destination in the USA, and launched national brand campaigns for Chinet and Trex.

Outside of work Troy writes and plays music around Nashville, is in pre-production for a short film he concepted and wrote with an Oscar shortlisted producer and an Emmy Award winning director. He loves walking his pups and has a 9-year-old daughter who is the bees’ knees.
